What are the requirements to adopt an animal?

• Completed Adoption Enquiry Form

• Proof that you are at least 18 years of age

• A photo ID

• Meet & Greet with the Dunroamin Team and your chosen animal.

• You must also agree to the terms of adoption included in our adoption application, including:

  • You will contact Dunroamin Animal Rescue immediately if the animal has any health issues within 30 days of adoption​

  • If for any reason, at any time, you are unable to keep the animal, you will return it to Dunroamin Animal Rescue.

Note: Dunroamin Animal Rescue will give a full no questions asked refund if the animal is returned within 30 days of adoption.

What do your adoption fees cover?

Every cent of our adoption fees goes to cover all veterinary costs including desexing, vaccinations and worming. Also included are any microchipping and registration fees. Dunroamin Animal Rescue does NOT profit from any adoption payments.

What is your adoption process?

1. Fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION FORM.

2. The Dunroamin team will then contact you to arrange a meet and greet with your chosen animal.

3. A 50% deposit is paid in order to "hold" your pet.

4. Once all vet work is complete, the Dunroamin team will contact you to arrange a pick up time.

5. All paperwork is completed on pick-up.

What happens if I have an issue or challenge and can't keep my pet?

If at any time you are unable to care for or keep your pet, we will happily take them back - NO judgment NO hesitation. Whether it's 15 days or 15 years after adoption, our Dunroamin animals are family and will have a home with us should they ever be in need.

 

I need help with desexing or surrendering a pet/s?

We are here to help in any way we can.

• Dunroamin's DESEXING PROGRAM has seen nearly 400 pets receive heavily subsidised desexing and then returned to their loving homes, preventing the cycle of unwanted litters, behavioural and health issues and ultimately more homeless animals. Contact us to discuss your needs.

• Should you find your pet or a stray in the "family way", or are unable to keep your pet for any reason, we might be their best chance for finding loving homes. Dunroamin's rescue team will be happy to assist, help re-home or take in any animals whenever we can - NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

I can't adopt but I still want to help, what can I do?

You can help in lots of ways!

• FINANCIAL DONATIONS are always a huge help and go directly to veterinary costs for surgeries and other unforeseen treatments for our animals in care.

• FOOD DONATIONS - as you can imagine, we have lots of animals waiting for their forever homes, and they eat a LOT! You can donate food by purchasing at participating pet supply stores or via our DROP OFF POINTS.

• FOSTERING - Becoming a Dunroamin Foster Angel helps us give even more cats and dogs a second chance at life. FIND OUT MORE.

• FUNDRAISING - Do you own a business or product? Are you part of a community group? Do you simply have an idea for connecting us with a fundraising opportunity? TALK TO US about it! Every dollar counts no matter how big or small!
